Chapter 37
In this chapter Aunt Sally finds the white shirt Huck and Tom took. She gets really angry but doesn't show her anger towards the boys at all. As Huck and Jim are carrying the stone, Huck realizes that Tom has good supervising skills because he is telling them what to do.
In this chapter Huck and Jim are trying to get Jim but realize the owner didn't guard him well. The boys then come up with some obstacles to make the rescue more difficult. Tim wants to make it harder by trying to cut off Jim's chains rather than just lifting them off the bed. They also come up with many more plots but since Jim is really unguarded, it seems like nonsense to do it all. Huck steals a watermelon from the slaves so Huck has to give the slaves money to compensate.
